Major League Baseball: Cheating is Okay, Gambling is Not

This is a direct quote from Major League Baseball. Right out of the commissioner’s stupid mouth. Look, I’m of the camp that you do whatever you do to win the game. If there is any possible competitive advantage my team can have, I want them to have it. Cheating is only bad if you get caught. I don’t believe cheating is right. I’m just saying, if you don’t get caught, then it’s not cheating. Are you getting what I’m saying? I know it’s quite confusing but let me lay it out for you.

We all know that the Astros are a group of cheaters now. This is not deflategate. This is not a video of a teams practice. This is real time cheating with existing proof over the course of a full season where people lose jobs. Sign stealing is part of baseball, which I understand. But, what the Astros did is more complex. These fucks were playing the the video game on Novice, while the rest of us were playing on Legendary.

The thing is though, it worked. And they got away with it for three seasons. They won a World Series, and possibly could have won another one, if people didn’t catch on right before last years world series.

The 2017 series was won by the Houston Astros and no matter what, that will always be fact. Is it tainted? Yeah, maybe, right now we say it is. But their parade? Already happened. Celebrations? Already celebrated. Strippers? Already stripped. They enjoyed the best part of the championship and from the sounds of it, no one regrets anything. And why would they? MLB is basically telling them it’s okay, we’ll make the bench coach take the fall. Mark my words, these players do not regret winning. Even if they eventually say they do, they don’t.

They got to experience winning a World Series. When you win the game on Easy, it feels pretty damn good. The only difference between winning on Easy and Hard is that when you win on Hard, you feel relief. The game is more fun on Easy. You hit more. You win more. People love you more.

30 years ago, this would already have been forgotten about. Luckily, the internet helps keep these things relevant. Which it should be. Do I think they should “take away the championship?” Yes, I do, but I don’t think it really matters. That punishment compared to Pete Rose’s is a joke. These guys get to head to spring training next week and one of the best players to ever play the game was banned for betting on himself. Even if they put an asterisk next to the championship, what does that actually do? Fans will just be, “satisfied.” Is that what we’ll be though? The amount of punishment that would need to be inflicted on the team for people to be happy is not realistic.

Obviously, the Pete Rose thing is more convoluted than that, but the fact that he’s not in the Hall of Fame, but Jose Altuve might be, pisses me off. As a fellow short man, I’m pissed about it. This guy is making us all look bad. They are fucking Pete Rose, a God Damn legend, but my least favorite person in baseball over the last three years, doesn’t even get a slap on the wrist for being the one who entered the final cheat code against the Yankees.

That douche bag was wearing a buzzer and we all know it. Gary Sanchez fucking knows that’s why Altuve didn’t want someone ripping his shirt off.

So, my problem with the Astros isn’t that they cheated. To be honest, as much as I hate the Astros, I really fucking hate the MLB, ten times more. Yeah fuck the Astros, they cheated me out of 1 possibly 2 chances at the World Series. Not me personally, but both times, those were terrible days for me. The day he Yankees lost to the Astros in 2017, I was at bar in Vegas with his one douche bag Astros fan. I’d do anything to run into that drunk fuck now. I’m selfish, so that’s mostly what I care about. But they got away with it at the time and that’s all that matters.

Now they are caught and the MLB isn’t making them say shit. Like this, “apology.”

Or this one?

It’s a fair question? No one needs to draw a conclusion. Just fucking say you cheated. You sound like a fucking moron. If this is what you are going to say, then don’t even go to the interview.

My point is that people are going to cheat. It’s going to happen. It’s the way the world works. Life’s not fair, and even if they said that they are taking the championship away from the Astros and were handing it to the Yankees or the Dodgers or whoever your team is, it wouldn’t matter. The only thing that matters now is that they are acting like douche bags. A-Rod owned up to steroids. Yeah, maybe he didn’t come out and talk about it the day of, but he fucking said, “I did it.” That’s why everyone will hate the Astros forever. Because they aren’t just saying they did it. They are pretending they were just a good team who won the World Series.

I can’t wait for Pete Rose to be unbanned from baseball now, because that will be the only good thing that comes out of this. Fuck you Jim Crane.
